Procedures of Teaching
First day of my teaching practice was in 14 september 2023.
I taught English major in grade 7 for four classess. I came to the class and
they greet me as usual like “Good morning sir, it is nice to see you again”. I
asked them to sitdown. First thing first is, Before I proceeded to my lesson, I
asked them about what did they learn yesterday and then some of the students
rose their hand to answer what they learned yesterday. After we discussed or
reviewed the lesson, I proceeded to next lesson. Second is, I gave them a
motivation first related to the lesson and the lesson Plan of the school
itself. I taught them about “Genres of Viewing”. So ,for the motivation they
watched short movie and animation for a while. It took ten minutes. After they
watched, I asked them to guest what would we discuss for the next lesson. Some
of them rose their hand and guest the topic. After we discussed, I started to
explain the lesson that I had already prepared.
Next for the presentation, I showed the power point. I had
23 slides and each point I asked anyone who wanted to read it. They rose their
and I chose someone to read it. I asked them again what did they get based on
the slide and they answered. I always gave them reward like “wah, that is a
nice great”, “yahh, that is correct” etc. After we discussed, I asked them why
we do we need to learn this lesson. I let them delivered their opinion and
after they finished it was my turn to explain the purpose and the importance of
the lesson.
My second day of teaching practice and last day of my
observation was in 15 September 2023. As usual they greeted me same like in my
first day. Before I gave them quizz, I asked or reviewed what did they learn.
They rose their hand and answered the question. I had prepared two activities.
The first is group quizz and I devided them into five group. It took 20 minutes
for discussing. For the second activity, we played the game tha was provided by
me. They was still in their group but each group divided into two group again
so they would fight against their own group. The game name’s is “guess me”. So,
I put the chair in the middle and they would be face to face and I put also the
bottle on the chair. I read the sentences and if they know the answered, they could
grap the bottle and they could answer. I was very happy because they loved the
game. After that I left the class.
The other day of my teaching practice was in UNP Laboratory
school. It was next week after I taught in Iloco Sur National School. My first
of teaching practice was on 20 september 2023. As usual I entered the classes
and they greeted me “Good morning sir, it is nice to see you again”. I started
the class with motivation. It was their first topic in English Major because it
was a new period of their teaching and learning. We were listening to the music
and the title of the music was “Photograph” by Ed Sheraan. They enjoyed to
listen to the music. It was related to our lesson because we discussed about
Introduction to world literature. Before I procceded to the next lesson, I
asked them first to quess what would we discuss. They rose their hand and guess
what would be discussing. For the motivation itself, it took 10 minutes. I
started to show the Power Point, and for the discussion it took 40 minutes
include my explaination and students’ participation. Aftter that I expalained
the purpose and important of the lesson and it took 10 mninutes. I gave them
individual assigment and it would be submitted tomorrow and I asked them to
read the topic for their next material.
Second day of my teaching practice was on 21 September 2023.
I continued to the next topic but before I proceeded to the next topic, I asked
them or reviewed what did they learn yesterday. Some of them rose their hand
and answered the questions. After that I continued to the topic. For the next
topic, I taught them abaout Greek Mythology. As usual, I used the power point
to show the topic and we discussed about the new lesson. After I explained the
lesson, I divided into five group. I gave three questions and then they
discussed each other. After that, I proceeded to play some game. The game
names’ is guess me. So, Each group divided again into two groups and they
fought against their own group and I put chair in the middle and bottel on the
chair. They grapped the bottle if they knew the answer. I read the one sentence
based on our lesson that we had learned. Fortunately, they really enjoyed the
game and I was so happy . After the game I left the class. It was my last they
of teaching practice there.
